У статті представлений порівняльний матеріал, присвячений дослідженню історії причин та факторів зміни текстів творів С. О. Єсєніна в часі та історичних епохах на прикладі уривків з поеми «Песнь о великом походе» та вірша «Снова пьют здесь, дерутся и плачут...». Оприявлено історію написання та прижиттєвої публікації поеми «Песнь о великом походе» Єсеніним, який доопрацьовуючи текст, сам обумовив появу різночитань та публікації різних варіантів поеми. Проведено робота щодо виявлення джерел текстів та їх порівняння.
